Wow. I’m sitting here in the gallery space on a sunny Sunday, looking out from my ‘desk’ at the array of work around the space, and all I can think about is how profoundly grateful I am to all of the artists, community members, friends, family, music fans, coffee sippers and random passers-by who popped into the space during the opening on Friday. It was one helluva turnout. So much time, effort, and thought went into making this what it is, and for basically giving me the most exhilarating green light one could get to move upward and onward with this project.
A big thanks to the Lawrence University Art Department, the art students at Lawrence and also at UW-Oshkosh, Frank Juarez for the promotion and encouragement, Appleton Downtown Inc. for being a great sounding board, West End Realty for allowing this pop-up to do just that in their space, Kaukauna Coffee & Tea for providing beverages at the event, Searchlights for playing the coolest music on the Ave, Wisconsin Visual Artists-Northeast Chapter for their generous small grant, Appleton Half Price Books for donating the mini library, and Foxley’s for kindly allowing me to use their wi-fi.
Gallery hours through Sunday, April 26:
Monday + Tuesday: closed
Wednesday + Thursday: 4-9
Friday, Saturday + Sunday: 12-4
