After more than 6 years, and 838 posts about phenomenal young or emerging artists from around the world, the time has come to archive these interviews and transition online writing and features to the brand new Dovetail Magazine! I’m so excited to launch this print + digital magazine, which continues with Young Space’s original mission to showcase and encourage emergent practices from artists around the world. With a greater ability to connect with a wide variety of creatives, such as art writers, curators, photographers, directors, and more, it feels like the natural next step in the progression of this project.
Young Space, which began as a personal blog in early 2014 and has grown into an entire platform of projects, has been fundamental in connecting with and learning about artists making work around the world–and connecting you with them too! While original written content and interviews will transition over to Dovetail Magazine from now on (Dovetail is always open to pitches for original writing, and holds semi-annual open calls for its curated selections in addition to Young Space exhibitions), the only thing that’s really changing is that interviews will no longer be posted here, and all previous ones will remain as an archive of all of these wonderful ideas and work from the past 6 years!
Young Space will of course stick around on Instagram to continue to showcase up-and-coming artists and continue with opportunities for exhibitions such as those on the Views platform. Thank you ever so much, and I’m looking forward to continuing to share work over at Dovetail Magazine!
