Cybele Lyle is a San Francisco-based artist who earned an MFA from Hunter College in 2007. She utilizes video projection and 2-dimensional media to ‘reconstruct the architecture and natural environment around her into an alternate vision of interior and exterior space.’ By framing and shaping the way one experiences a space by implementing new structures and projections, she focuses on the interaction between herself and the community, and the community with her work. Some of her pieces are visible only from the street, such as Boxed Out, or like an animated facade, like The Chasm Arena, a video of a waterfall projected sideways onto the glass architecture of the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
I encourage you to check out much more of Lyle’s work at cybelelyle.com.
